Price List
The current price list for Uppsala Biobank's services and facilities has been established by the Biobank Council and is valid until further notice.
Prices are based on cost and are stated excluding VAT. Uppsala Biobank reserves the right to change the price list and service conditions following decisions by the Biobank Council.

Collection through healthcare-integrated biobanking
Price for deposit:
- SEK 55/primary tube (includes 5 years of storage costs)
- SEK 138/tube for aliquoted samples (includes 5 years of storage costs)
- SEK 66 for feces sample
Invoicing occurs regularly every three months.
Sample retrieval
The cost for retrieval is invoiced at an hourly rate of SEK 650.
The price applies to projects collecting samples through healthcare-integrated biobanking. Others will be invoiced according to agreements with the collecting project and Uppsala Biobank.
For retrieval of samples stored for more than five years, in addition to the related working hours, the unpaid storage time may also be invoiced.
Storage of boxes
Price for storage of a box (max 13 × 13 × 13 cm) in a −70°C freezer is SEK 200 per box per year. For non-academic researchers, a start-up fee of SEK 5,000 and an annual administrative fee of SEK 5,000 apply.
Price for storage of a box (max 13 × 13 × 13 cm) in a cryotank is SEK 1,000 per box per year. A start-up fee of SEK 10,000 and an annual administrative fee of SEK 10,000 apply.
The service includes two (2) deposits or retrievals per year. Additional deposits and retrievals are charged at SEK 1,000 plus SEK 1,000 for each commenced hour, i.e., a minimum of SEK 2,000.
Billing is carried out annually.
Freezer rental
Rent for freezer space: SEK 16,500/year for research freezers, SEK 22,000/year for non-research freezers.
Rental is invoiced annually in September.
